- Hurricane Preparedness Open House is June 2nd -
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FL -  With less than 30 days till the start of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane season, the County is encouraging all residents to take responsibility for their safety and that of their family, pets and property by developing a hurricane plan now and being ready for an emergency such as a hurricane, which can bring many hazards.   

To help residents get ready, the County is hosting its 4th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Open House on Saturday, June 2nd at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center from 10AM-2PM. The community is invited to come out to this free, one-day event which will offer preparedness information from emergency management experts, including how to prepare for the 2018 hurricane season as there is always something new to learn in addition to getting a refresher on the basics. And free snacks, while supplies last!

The Hurricane Preparedness Open House (see attachment) will bring together dozens of County agencies, service providers and featured activities for adults and children including, but not limited to:    

The 4th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Open House is a partnership between Broward County, The American Red Cross, Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Friends of the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center. Hurricane season begins June 1st and ends November 30th.
