3-Day Cold Weather Emergency Advisory for Wednesday, January 3rd-Friday, January 5th

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The National Weather Service updated the forecasted low temperatures for Wednesday, January 3rd, including wind chill, and is now predicting lows in the mid to upper 40's in Broward metro areas overnight on Wednesday, January 3rd through Friday, January 5th. 

As a result of this forecast, Broward County has declared a multi-night Cold Weather Emergency from:

6:30PM Wednesday, January 3rd to 9AM Thursday, January 4th
6:30PM Thursday, January 4th to 9AM Friday, January 5th
6:30PM Friday, January 5th to 7AM Saturday, January 6th

Homeless persons are advised to report to the following Pickup and/or Shelter locations (map attached), no later than 6:30PM on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights for transportation or access to special cold-night shelters:

Please notify homeless persons in your area of this advisement.

However, if the weather forecast changes to predict warmer or colder conditions, cold weather emergency shelter nights may be cancelled or extended. If there are changes to this declaration, they will be issued no later than 1PM on the date of the event.
