BROWARD COUNTY, FL - This August, the U.S. will experience its first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in 99 years, and Broward County Library is hosting free events including  parties, arts and crafts, lectures and viewings.

Remember to consider eye safety when viewing the eclipse and use only special-purpose solar filters such as eclipse glasses or hand-held solar viewers. Broward County Libraries' supply of eclipse glasses is extremely limited as many were already distributed at eclipse programs. Unfortunately, we cannot fulfill individual requests for glasses with our depleted supply. An extremely limited amount of glasses will be available at a few of the remaining programs, but we will most certainly not have enough glasses on hand to meet the high demand. please visit the National Aeronautics and Space Association's website for tips and other methods for safely viewing the eclipse.
