UPDATED JANUARY 25, 2018: Veterans Connect Hotspots now available at two additional locations: Carver Ranches Library and Tamarac Library.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Beginning June 2, 2017, Broward County Libraries Division, in conjunction with T-Mobile, will launch Veterans Connect Hotspot Program, an innovative initiative that provides 450 free WiFi hotspots to local veterans, active military members and their dependents. The free hotspots provide unlimited access to T-Mobile's 4G LTE network and increase access to information and technology for their users.

The goal of the Veterans Connect Hotspot Program is to assist veterans in transitioning to civilian life by encouraging education, self development and career advancement through technology. It also encourages the use of Broward County Libraries' vast resources and services by members of the military community.

"As a veteran of the United States Army, I understand first-hand the challenges associated with transitioning to civilian life," says Broward County Libraries Director Kelvin Watson. "Broward County Libraries Division is here to connect our veterans, active military members and their dependents with the library's resources."

The free hotspots will be loaned for one month to veterans, active military members and their dependents with valid Military ID (Veterans Identification Card (VIC), Active Duty ID card, Guard/Reserve Military ID Card, Retiree Military ID Card, Military Dependent ID Card) or a Driver's License with a "V" designation. Users than have the option to renew the loan three more times. They are available at the following library locations:

It is also consistent with the Broward County Board of County Commissioners' value of cultivating community culture, arts, recreation and life-long learning.
