BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Animal Care and Adoption will host a special "Beach Bud" adoption event on Saturday, May 20th, from 11AM to 4PM at the Broward County Animal Care Adoption Center, 2400 SW 42nd St., Fort Lauderdale. The event is made possible as part of a grant received by the Petco Foundation to support lifesaving programs for pets in need throughout the County.

The focus of the "Beach Bud" event is to put the spotlight on big dogs that typically are not adopted as quickly as smaller dogs. As part of the promotion, all adoption fees on larger-sized dogs (40lbs or more) will be waived. In addition, adopters who select a big dog that day will receive a special keepsake "Beach Bud Bag," filled with items to help care for their new pet.

The adoption fee for dogs under 40 pounds will be $25. The adoption fee for cats will be waived, both at the Animal Care Adoption Center and all Pet Supermarket stores located in Broward County.

"Because of the support of the Petco Foundation, we will be able to use this event to put the focus on hard-to-place pets, such as our big dogs," said Thomas Adair, Director, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption. "We look forward to being able to showcase their stories so they can become a special Beach Bud in someone's life."
