BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Animal Care and Adoption Division has expanded its online WebPortal to now include a spay/neuter voucher program for unowned feral and community cats.

The WebPortal --currently used by pet owners to apply for a SNIP Program voucher-- will now allow colony caregivers or residents who care for unowned cats, the ability to go online and create a profile. Once a profile is created, the resident can add information about each cat and then apply for a voucher to have the cat(s) sterilized.

The voucher can be used at a partner veterinary clinic or at the Portable Spay/Neuter unit currently located at Sunview Park, 1500 SW 42nd Ave, in Fort Lauderdale. Services for the cat also include a rabies vaccination and an ear-notch - the universal indication that a cat has been sterilized.

"This recent expansion of the WebPortal provides residents with a convenient and easy way to receive spay/neuter services for community cats they care for," said Thomas Adair, Director, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division. "Moving forward, the WebPortal will continue to play an important role providing more access to programs and services, such as streamlined pet licensing purchase and renewals, lost pet reporting, and vaccination tracking."
