HURRICANE IRMA ADVISORY #23

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Here are some storm updates from Broward County Emergency Operations Center:

National Weather Service reports that the Storm Surge Warning for coastal Broward County has been lifted. Broward remains under a Hurricane Warning and a Flood Watch. Hurricane winds are expected in the early morning on Sunday.

Town of Davie reports that around 11:45PM Saturday, Wastewater Pump Station 24, located at 4701 S.W. 62nd Ave. in Davie, lost FPL power and is not pumping. It is anticipated that the pump station will overflow around 7-9AM Sunday, impacting residences within the surrounding communities of Emerald Isles and Jasmine Lakes Developments. Free standing water in these areas may be contaminated. Utilities staff in Davie will respond as soon as it is safe to do so.

City of Hallandale Beach has announced a precautionary boil water notice for residents living in the area of Desoto Park South, limited to:

  • 501 THREE ISLAND BLVD
  • 601 THREE ISLAND BLVD
  • 701 THREE ISLAND BLVD
  • 801 THREE ISLAND BLVD
  • 851 THREE ISLAND BLVD

The emergency repair of a water main break resulted in a loss of water pressure near Three Islands Boulevard and Parkview Drive. All water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. For more information, contact City of Hallandale Beach at 954-457-3060.
