BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County is announcing the go live of its Virtual Prime Site, a major upgrade to the County's Public Safety Radio System. This next generation virtual platform strengthens radio communications used by first responders, improving reliability, redundancy, and long term operational resiliency.

The Virtual Prime Site replaces aging hardware with a fully virtualized, centrally managed environment. This upgrade modernizes critical radio infrastructure, ensures seamless interoperability, accelerates failover speeds, and delivers cost-effective scalability for future enhancements.

"Today's go live of the Virtual Prime Site marks a critical advancement in our radio system's reliability and readiness," said Broward County Mayor Mark D. Bogen. "This investment ensures that our first responders have the robust, resilient communications infrastructure necessary to protect the residents and visitors of Broward County."

Implementation of the Virtual Prime Site aligns directly with Broward County's continued commitment to strengthening emergency response capabilities for law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency medical services, and other public safety partners.

"This project combines the main hardware functions into one virtual platform, making the system more reliable and reducing long-term costs-all essential for a modern, mission-critical radio system," said Tracy L. Jackson, Director, Office of Regional Communications & Technology. "This is a major step forward for public safety operations throughout Broward County."
