BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The BrowardNEXT2.0 Comprehensive Plan Workshop has been rescheduled from Wednesday, March 14th to Thursday, March 15th.

Who should attend:  Residents, businesses, developers, land use attorneys, consultants, municipalities, non-profits, planners, educational institutions, and local, regional and state agencies.

  To learn about the vision set by planners for Broward County, and regional strategies to address a wide range of issues including: Housing, Transportation, Climate Change, Historic Preservation, Environmental Protection, Land Use, Education, Recreation and Open Space, Water Management, Natural Disasters, Intergovernmental Coordination, and Solid Waste.

About BrowardNEXT
BrowardNEXT includes amendments to the Countywide Land Use Plan and was adopted on April 25, 2017 by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. BrowardNEXT 2.0 is the update of the Countywide Comprehensive Plan Elements with a primary focus on County operated or regulated regional facilities and services, and the Broward Municipal Services District.  The Comprehensive Plan serves as the guide for decision-making and helps set a course for the County over the next decade.  The Plan presents a vision of the County's future and recommends goals, objectives and policies for implementation.

About Planning and Development Management  
Planning and Development Management manages the County's sustainability initiatives including renewable energy and climate resiliency; manages redevelopment planning initiatives including the Broward County Land Development Code and elements of the Broward County Comprehensive Plan; participates in municipal and unincorporated area redevelopment including Complete Streets; and oversees site plan review and compliance with community standards in the unincorporated areas through enforcement of applicable zoning codes and regulations. The Division also evaluates rezoning requests, land use plan amendments and land use compatibility reviews; maintains demographic and economic databases; conducts research and analyses; and coordinates the County's Geographic Information System (GIS) program, including application development.
