To Serve You Better

- Nature center to close for three days during upgrades -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The goal of Broward County Parks is to live up to our Mission Statement – the short version is “Recreation. Preservation. Education.” – at every park, every day of the year we’re open, which is every day except Christmas. From time to time, however, we have to close a site briefly in order to make it better. That will be the case from Monday through Wednesday, August 20th-22nd, when Secret Woods Nature Center (2701 W State Rd. 84, Dania Beach 33312; 954-357-8884) will close for roadway resurfacing.

The County’s first nature center opened back in 1978, so it’s not surprising that occasional upgrades and improvements are in order. Most of the latest such renovations were recently completed without necessitating closure of the 57-acre park, a Designated Urban Wilderness Area that maintains a busy schedule of programming year round. The final step of resurfacing the roadway and parking lot does require closing the park, although no regular programming will be affected during the three-day hiatus.

For further information, call the park at 954-357-8884. Secret Woods is accessible via Broward County Transit Route #6.
