Self-Defense/Fitness for Adults With Physical Disabilities

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Take one more punch, do one more rep, and join the fight toward many rounds of health through a free Self-Defense and Fitness Clinic, presented by the Parks Division’s Special Populations Section, in partnership with the Supportabilities Foundation, with time slots available from 4 to 7:30PM on Wednesday, August 15th, at Plantation Heritage Park (1100 S Fig Tree Lane, Plantation 33317; 954-357-5135). The event is for ages 18 and up with physical disabilities.

Activities will include:

  • Non-contact boxing demo/participation through individual/group instruction on self-defense training techniques
  • Adapted exercise demo/participation through individual/group instruction on cardiovascular and strength training techniques
  • Free blood pressure, heart rate, and body mass index (BMI) measurements
  • Light refreshments
