BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Jan Moran Collier City Learning Library, located at 2800 NW 9 Court, Pompano Beach, FL 33069, has received a grant to offer Camp Wonderopolis: Symphony of Wonders, a program based upon a  series of free, intergenerational workshops that focus on music and math, held from 6 to 7:30PM, June 11th and 25th and July 16th and 30th.

Camp Wonderopolis is a vehicle to keep students and their families learning together through the summer months and beyond.  Camper families will explore Wonder Lessons and earn Wonder Cards, experiment with hands-on activities, select an avatar to keep track of their online progress and keep a Camp Diary.  Activities will include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning activities, maker activities and videos.

Campers explore 14 different lessons across two themed areas.  They can sign up for the Camp Wonderopolis online resource and follow activities at their own pace throughout the summer.

As well as providing four intergenerational workshops, the grant is being used to support enhancements around the Creation Station Music Studio, located at the Jan Moran Collier City Learning Library, where customers can compose, create, produce and record their original music.

Registration is required; please call the Jan Moran Collier City Learning library at 954-357-7670 for additional information and to enroll, or register using Eventbrite.

The grant is sponsored by National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) and Better World Books.  Meal hospitality will be provided by the Friends of Broward County Libraries.
