Disc-Go Lives!
- Program introduces veterans to disc golf -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The Special Populations Section of Broward County Parks and Recreation Division will offer an Introductory Disc Golf Development Program, for veterans with or without disabilities, at Shelter #9 at Plantation Heritage Park (1100 S Fig Tree Lane, Plantation 33317; 954-357-5135). The program runs for six consecutive weeks on Mondays, starting on June 25th and ending on July 30th, from 6 to 7:30PM. Consistent attendance is required, as each week participants will build on skills learned the previous week. The program is free, although class size is limited and preregistration is required.

Participants must have upper-body strength on at least one side of their bodies. In these classes, they will learn disc golf fundamentals, skills, equipment, field of play, rules, and more. The lead volunteer instructor will be Jonathan Howard, assisted by other members of the Broward Disc Golf Association. Disc golf can also be played at other Broward County parks: Brian Piccolo in Cooper City, Easterlin in Oakland Park, Markham in Sunrise, and Tradewinds in Coconut Creek.
