BROWARD COUNTY, FL - If
you are a South Florida college student and want to go behind the scenes to
experience how government really works, then now is the time to apply to Broward
Academy VII. The theme of this free and exciting 10-week program (September
13-November 15, Thursday evenings) is Passport
to Broward. Participants will be taken to County destinations where the public typically
does not have access (see flyer).
At the start of the program, students will be given a Broward passport which will be stamped at each of the 10 special destinations visited over the course of study. By experiencing several County businesses and agencies, students will appreciate how Broward County government makes a
difference in the quality of life in our community. The curriculum incorporates a
civics component so students understand their role and
responsibilities as citizens. Dinner is included in the program.
