BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Change the luck of a shelter pet this St. Patrick’s Day weekend! The Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center will be the place to be for fun and prizes and a chance to meet your special lucky charm.
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 14, 15 and 16, residents who adopt a dog or cat are welcome to take a turn at the "plinko board" for a chance to win fun prizes — from pet treats to T-shirts. Land your token on the Lucky Shamrock and save some green with a 50 percent discount on all adoption fees. Adoption fees include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, Broward County rabies registration tag and microchip — a value of more than $200.
The weekend-long St. Patrick’s Day holiday special is featured at the Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center, 1870 S.W. 39 St., Fort Lauderdale. The Center opens for adoptions on Friday, 1 to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Animal Care Adoption Center is closed on Mondays, including St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.
