BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - The Presidents Day public holiday  is dedicated to honoring George Washington, the first president of the United States, and all other U.S. presidents. The holiday was originally held on the anniversary of George Washington's birth on February 22. In 1971, this holiday was moved to the third Monday in February.

In celebration of Presidents Day, Broward County Libraries will host a film screening, a children's story time and a special "Presidents and Pizza" event for teens. All events are free and open to the public.
