Broward County Transit Announces Service Adjustments Effective January 19, 2014

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla.- Effective on Sunday, January 19, 2014, Broward County Transit (BCT) will make service adjustments on Routes 6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 22, 31, 60, 62, 72, 81, 88 and 441 Breeze. A new Route 19 will be added as part of the Route 18 split at Lauderhill Mall on State Road 7 and the Sandalfoot Shuttle service on Route 18 will be discontinued.

The service adjustments are in response to passenger input to improve route services, overcrowding, on-time performance and overall service reliability on the routes. Details of the service adjustments are as follows:

Routes 6, 9, 22, 81 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Buses leaving the Broward Central Terminal will use Northwest 1 Avenue south to Broward Boulevard, then go west over the regular route.
• Buses entering the Broward Central Terminal will use Northwest 7 Avenue to Northwest 4 Street, go east to Northwest 1 Avenue and into the Broward Central Terminal.

Routes 11, 14, 31 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Northbound buses leaving the Broward Central Terminal will use Northwest 1 Avenue to Northwest 4 Street west to Northwest 7 Avenue and then over the regular route.
• Southbound buses entering the Broward Central Terminal will use Northwest 7 Avenue to Northwest 4 Street east to Northwest 1 Avenue and into the Broward Central Terminal.

Note: Due to construction, bus stops will be eliminated on Northwest 2 Street between Northwest 3 Avenue and Northwest 5 Avenue; on Northwest 2 Avenue between Northwest 2 Street and Broward Boulevard; on Northwest 6 Avenue between Northwest 4 Street and Northwest 2 Street; and on Broward Boulevard between Northwest 8 Avenue and Northwest 5 Avenue. Bus stop signs will be added at the new bus stop locations.

Route 12 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Service on weekdays is approximately every 50 minutes.
• Service will be adjusted from every 60 minutes to every 50 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.
• Time point for Nova Drive and University Drive will be changed to University Drive and Peters Road.
• Time point for Oakwood Boulevard and Sheridan Street will be changed to Sheridan Street and US 1.
Weekdays:
• The first weekday westbound trip will leave North Beach Park at 6 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 7:16 a.m. The first eastbound trip will leave the West Terminal at 5:20 a.m., and arrive at North Beach Park at 6:26 a.m.

Saturdays:
• The first Saturday westbound trip will leave North Beach Park at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 7:36 a.m. The first eastbound trip will leave the West Terminal at 6 a.m. and arrive at North Beach Park at 7 a.m.

Sundays:
• The first Sunday westbound trip will leave North Beach Park at 10:30 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 11:44 a.m. The first eastbound trip will leave the West Terminal at 9:50 a.m. and arrive at North Beach Park at 11:03 a.m.

Route 16 – Weekdays
• The first eastbound trip from Pembroke Lakes Mall will depart at 5:50 a.m. instead of at 6 a.m. to make connections with Tri-Rail at the Fort Lauderdale Airport Tri-Rail Station.

Route 18 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays – Splint into two separate routes at Lauderhill Mall
• Service between Lauderhill Mall and Golden Glades Park-and-Ride, Miami Gardens.
• Weekday northbound service from Golden Glades and weekday southbound service from Lauderhill Mall is approximately every 20 minutes.
• Saturday northbound service from Golden Glades and southbound service from Lauderhill Mall is approximately every 15 minutes.
• Sunday northbound service from Golden Glades and southbound service from Lauderhill Mall is approximately every 20 minutes.
• An 11:30 p.m. northbound trip will be added from Golden Glades on weekdays and Saturdays
Note: No transfers will be issued to passengers at the Lauderhill Mall between Route 18 and Route 19.

Route 19 (New) – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Service between Lauderhill Mall and Sandalfoot Cove Boulevard in Boca Raton. No Sunday service to Sandalfoot Cove Boulevard; last stop will be Turtle Creek Drive.
• Weekday northbound service from Lauderhill Mall is approximately every 20 minutes.
• Weekday southbound service from Sandalfoot Cove Boulevard is approximately every 20 minutes.
• Saturday northbound service from Lauderhill Mall and southbound service from Sandalfoot Cove Boulevard is approximately every 30 minutes.
• Saturday northbound service from Lauderhill Mall and southbound service from Turtle Creek Drive is approximately every 15 minutes.
• New southbound trips added from Turtle Creek Drive, on weekdays at 11:20 p.m., on Saturdays at 11:15 p.m. and on Sundays at 10:15 p.m.

Route 441 ‘Breeze’ – Weekday Service Only
• Midday service will be improved to every 20 minutes.
• Five new stops will be added at Johnson Street (Hollywood); Northwest 19 Street (Lauderhill); Northwest 26 Street (Lauderhill); Northwest 41 Street (Lauderdale Lakes) and Southgate Boulevard (Margate).

Route 31 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Time point for Lyons Road and Copans Road will be changed to Lyons Road and Sample Road.
• Time points will be eliminated at Oakland Park Boulevard and Northwest 31 Avenue and at Northwest 62 Street and Northwest 31 Avenue.
• Time point at Commercial Boulevard and Northwest 31 Avenue will be added.

Weekdays:
• Northbound service will be adjusted to every 30 minutes from 5:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. and then every 40 minutes from 7:40 p.m. to 10:20 p.m.
• The first weekday northbound trip will leave the Broward Central Terminal at 5:30 a.m.
• The first southbound trip will leave Sample Road and Lyons Road at 5:03 a.m.
• The first southbound trip will leave Hillsboro Boulevard and Lyons Road at 5:55 a.m.

Saturdays:
• Saturday service has been adjusted throughout the schedule to every 50 minutes.
• The first Saturday northbound trip will leave the Broward Central Terminal at 5:45 a.m.
• Saturday southbound service will begin at 5:28 a.m. from Sample Road and Lyons Road.
• Saturday southbound service from Hillsboro Boulevard and Lyons Road will begin at 6:10 a.m.

Sundays:
• Sunday service has been adjusted throughout the schedule to every 50 minutes.
• Sunday northbound service will begin at 9 a.m. from the Broward Central Terminal.
• Sunday southbound service will begin at 8:50 a.m. from Sample Road and Lyons Road.
• Sunday southbound service will begin at 9:30 a.m. from Hillsboro Boulevard and Lyons Road.

Route 60 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays

Weekdays:

• Weekday service has been adjusted throughout the schedule. Morning and afternoon peak service will be adjusted to every 20/23 minutes and off peak service will be adjusted to every 30/33 minutes.
• Weekday operating hours will be 5:10 a.m. to 11:09 p.m.
• The first southbound trip will depart from Northwest 15 Street and SR 7/441 at 5:10 a.m. and arrive at Broward Central Terminal at 6:09 a.m.
• The first northbound trip will depart from the Northeast Transit Center at 5:40 a.m. and arrive at Northwest 15 Street and SR 7/441 at 6:05 a.m.
• The first northbound bus from the Broward Central Terminal will depart at 5:25 a.m. and arrive at Northwest 15 Street and SR 7/441 at 6:27 a.m.

Saturdays:
• Saturday service has been adjusted throughout the schedule to every 30/33 minutes, between 5:20 a.m. and 11:28 p.m.
• The first southbound trip will depart Northwest 15 Street and SR 7/441 at 5:20 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 6:18 a.m.
• The first northbound trip will depart from the Broward Central Terminal at 5:30 a.m. and arrive at Northwest 15 Street and 441 at 6:28 a.m.

Sundays:
• Sunday service has been adjusted throughout the schedule to every 50 minutes, between 9:05 a.m. and 8:28 p.m.
• The first southbound trip will depart from Northwest 15 Street and SR 7/441 at 9:05 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 10:03 a.m.
• The first northbound trip will depart from the Broward Central Terminal at 9:30 a.m. and arrive at Northwest 15 Street and SR 7/441 at 10:30 a.m.

Route 62 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Time point for the eastern end of the route will be changed from Northeast 62 Street and US 1 to McNab Road and US 1.
• Time adjustments have been made throughout the weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays schedules.

Weekdays:
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Atlantic Boulevard and University Drive at 5 a.m. and arrive at McNab Road and US 1 at 5:59 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip from Westview Drive and University Drive will depart at 5:55 a.m. and arrive at McNab Road and US 1 at 7:27 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Southwest 12 Street and SR 7/441 at 5:30 a.m. and arrive at Westview Drive and University Drive at 6:16 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from McNab Road and US 1 at 5:40 a.m. and arrive at Westview Drive and University Drive at 6:58 a.m.

Saturdays:
• The first eastbound trip from Westview Drive and University Drive will depart at 6:20 a.m. and arrive at McNab Road and US 1 at 7:36 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Southwest 12 Street and SR 7/441 at 6:20 a.m. and arrive at Westview Drive and University Drive at 7:09 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from McNab Road and US 1 at 7:50 a.m. and arrive at Westview Drive and University Drive at 9:08 a.m.

Sundays:
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Westview Drive and University Drive at 8:20 a.m. and arrive at McNab Road and US 1 at 9:37 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Southwest 12 Street and SR 7/441 at 8:20 a.m. and arrive at Westview Drive and University Drive at 9:06 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from McNab Road and US 1 at 9:50 a.m. and arrive at Westview Drive and University Drive at 11:05 a.m.

Route 72 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Time point for Oakland Park Boulevard and Hiatus Road has been removed.
• Time adjustments have been made throughout the weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules.

Weekdays:
• Weekday operating hours will be between 5 a.m. and 12:43 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Oakland Park Boulevard and University Drive at 5 a.m. and arrive at Northeast 41 Street and A1A at 5:46 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Sawgrass Mills Mall at 5:25 a.m. and arrive at Northeast 41 Street and A1A at 6:29 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Oakland Park Boulevard and US 1 at 5:10 a.m. and arrive at Sawgrass Mills Mall at 6:03 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Northwest 41 Street and A1A at 6 a.m. and arrive at Sawgrass Mills Mall at 7:07 a.m.

Saturdays:
• Saturday service improves from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes, and will operate between 5:21 a.m. and 12:44 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Oakland Park Boulevard and University Drive at 5:43 a.m. and arrive at Northeast 41 Street and A1A at 6:30 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Sawgrass Mills Mall at 5:55 a.m. and arrive at Northeast 41 Street and A1A at 7:01 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Oakland Park Boulevard and US 1 at 5:21 a.m. and arrive at Sawgrass Mills Mall at 6:16 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Northwest 41 Street and A1A at 6:12 a.m. and arrive at Sawgrass Mills Mall at 7:19 a.m.

Sundays:
• Sunday service improves from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes and will operate between 7:50 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Oakland Park Boulevard and University Drive at 7:51 a.m. and arrive at Northeast 41 Street and A1A at 8:36 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Sawgrass Mills Mall at 8:05 a.m. and arrive at Northeast 41 Street and A1A at 9:08 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Northwest 41 Street and A1A at 7:50 a.m. and arrive at Sawgrass Mills Mall at 8:54 a.m.

Route 81 – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays
• Weekday schedule will be adjusted throughout the route.
• Time point for University Drive and Sunrise Boulevard will be changed to Sunset Strip and University Drive.

Weekdays:
• Weekday service will be adjusted to every 30 minutes all day.
• The first westbound trip will depart from Lauderhill Mall at 5:35 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 6:29 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from the Broward Central Terminal at 6 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 7:33 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Sunset Strip and University Drive at 5:16 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 6:15 a.m.
• The first trip will depart from the West Terminal at 5:45 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 7:17 a.m.


Saturdays:
• Saturday schedules will be adjusted throughout the route.
• The first westbound trip will depart from the Lauderhill Mall at 5:55 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 6:46 a.m.
• The first westbound trip will depart from the Broward Central Terminal at 6 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 7:18 a.m.
• The first eastbound trip will depart from Sunset Strip and University Drive at 5:41 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 6:50 a.m.
• The first trip will depart from the West Terminal at 6 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 7:22 a.m.

Sundays:
• Sunday schedules will be adjusted throughout the route.
• The first westbound trip will depart from the Broward Central Terminal at 8 a.m. and arrive at the West Terminal at 9:20 a.m.
• The first trip will depart from the West Terminal at 8 a.m. and arrive at the Broward Central Terminal at 9:22 a.m.

Route 88 – Weekdays
• The first southbound trip will depart from Heron Bay Plaza at 5:55 a.m., replacing the 6 a.m. trip and arrive at the West Terminal at 6:36 a.m.
• The 6:40 a.m. southbound trip from Heron Bay Plaza will be replaced by a 6:35 a.m. trip and arrive at the West Terminal at 7:18 a.m.
