BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Residents can save time, avoid long lines and reduce parking congestion and fees while making property tax payments by using Broward County’s drive-through kiosk, located in the parking lot of the Governmental Center Annex building, 115 S. Andrews Ave., in Fort Lauderdale. The kiosk will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on three different dates for this tax payment season: Nov. 26 and 27, 2013, and March 31, 2014.

“This is our third year offering citizens this convenient service,” said Tom Kennedy, director of Broward County Records, Taxes and Treasury Division. “The kiosk offers a convenient, time-saving way for residents to pay, without having to get out of their car.”

To access the kiosk, customers should enter the parking lot from the Brickell Avenue (west) side of the Governmental Center and follow the signs. Broward County staff wearing Broward County shirts and badges will be on hand to collect payments. In order for tax payments to be accepted at the kiosk, they must be:

• Current (2013 taxes only)
• Payment in full (no partial payments taken)
• Properly filled out check (no cash allowed)
• Accompanied by original tax bill stub (which will be stamped “Received” by the collection agent)

Payments will be processed on the day received. Residents can also go online to verify that the payment has been posted, and obtain a printed copy of their receipt by visiting Enter the property account number, view and print 2013 tax bill.

Broward County Records, Taxes and Treasury Division will continue to accept property tax payments at their offices in the Governmental Center Annex, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Suite A100, Fort Lauderdale, through March 31, 2014. Payments can also be made online and at any one of the 77 Wells Fargo Branch Banks in Broward County through March 31, 2014.

Property taxes must be paid no later than March 31, 2014, to pay without penalty and avoid delinquency. A 4 percent discount applies to taxes paid in November; a 3 percent discount applies in December; a 2 percent discount in January and a 1 percent discount in February. Tax payments received after April 1, 2014, are delinquent and subject to penalties.
