BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - The Broward County Historical Commission is honoring Broward County pioneers at its 41st Annual Pioneer Day Event on October 19, 2013, beginning at 12 p.m. The Broward County Board of County Commissioners and the Broward County Historical Commission will join the City of Coral Springs and the Coral Springs Historical Advisory Committee in co-sponsoring this event.
The celebration, as part of the City’s 50th anniversary activities, will be held at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts and the Museum of Art, located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive in Coral Springs. The Pioneer Recognition Ceremony will be held in the beautiful main gallery of the museum. The public is welcome at this free event.
The Broward County Historical Commission is pleased to announce that 26 men and women have been selected as Broward County Pioneers. They will join a distinguished group of over 2,000 other Pioneers that have been honored since the beginning of the program. The mission of the Broward County Historical Commission is to recognize, protect and support the historical interests of the communities of Broward County and to serve as an advisory board to the County Commission of Broward County, Florida. The services, programs, collections and exhibits of the Broward County Historical Commission are administrated by Broward County Libraries Division.
