BROWARD COUNTY, Fla.  - Broward County Libraries will celebrate Teen Read Week™ (October 13-19) with special events and programs aimed at encouraging teens to, "Seek the Unknown @ your library", and read for the fun of it!

Teen Read Week is a time to celebrate reading for fun while encouraging teens to take advantage of reading in all its forms - books, magazines, e-books, audiobooks and more! It is also a great opportunity to encourage teens to become regular library users.

In recent years, many families have had to adapt to make do with less as a result of the economy. As many have learned unsurprisingly, the library is a great place to start. Visit Broward County Library's catalog to search for great reads for school or just for you. Get free downloadable music and magazines. Need help with homework or finding work? Log onto Broward eTutor for free online tutors and job coaches - live help is available from 2 to 11 p.m. daily in a wide range of subjects.

Teen Read Week™ is a great opportunity to educate teens and their families about all the free services the library can offer while also encouraging teens to explore all the different resources and services it provides. Here's a list of special Teen Read Week™ events coming up at Broward County Libraries:

The award-winning Broward County Libraries Division, founded in 1974, is the ninth largest library system in the nation by population served and one of the busiest, with more than 9 million walk-in customers visiting its 40 locations annually. The library has more than 3.4 million items and 2,000 computers for public use, and offers hundreds of events and programs to meet the needs of Broward County's diverse community. Broward County Libraries Division continues its strong emphasis on literacy, after-school programs and electronic access. In addition to our comprehensive Web site, Broward.org/Library, which provides information about library activities, links to online catalogs, reference information and databases, customers can visit BCL WoW - Broward County Library Without Walls – for free eBooks, music, audiobooks, apps and more. Customers may also follow Libraries on Facebook and Twitter. Libraries Division also administers the services, programs, collections and exhibits of the Broward County Historical Commission.
