Twenty-four Broward County artists will be selected through a Call to Artist application process, to attend the one-day, You Are Your Brand, workshop, facilitated by Golden-Globe winner and Emmy-nominated TV writer and producer Maxine Lapiduss. Hosted by Broward Cultural Division and ArtServe, Inc. and presented by Creative Capital’s Professional Development Program, the workshop will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Young At Art Museum/Broward County Library, 751 SW 121st Ave. in Davie. To be considered, Broward artists will be submitting proposals to participate in the seminar. The deadline for the You Are Your Brand application is August 26, 2013.

Participants will be chosen by a competitive review and panel selection process. There have been an ongoing series of free informational sessions to prepare Broward’s performing and media artists, writers, musicians, dancers and visual artists for this opportunity. Whether you know it or not, the moment you enter a room, people form an opinion about you. Only a fraction of your message is conveyed through the words you choose – what you wear, the energy and enthusiasm you convey, and how you engage others all contribute to the effect of your overall impact. You Are Your Brand workshop will engage artists in a series of innovative exercises designed to help them discover what they project and how others perceive them. With this knowledge artists can create a strategy to effectively present themselves and their work, and move confidently toward achieving their goals.

"Amazingly fluid speaker; worked very well with gut feelings yet made her points objective- based. Very motivational and worthwhile."
