WHAT: Learn stand-up paddleboating and paddle fitness when T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park, in conjunction with Walk on Water Fitness, offers Paddleboarding Instruction, for all ages, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Fees vary.
Paddleboarding has been documented as early as 1781, when a nautical artist accompanying Captain James Cook to the Sandwich Islands included a Polynesian paddleboarder in a drawing. Enthusiasts use surfboards or paddleboards, including increasingly popular inflatable models. The activity has enjoyed periods of popularity ever since the 1930s.
