WHAT: Are your children interested in horses? Equestrian Summer Camps at Tradewinds Park & Stables provide opportunities for children ages 9 through 16 to get real experience caring for horses on a daily basis. There is also riding instruction (weather permitting) and instruction in other horse-related areas, as well as other activities.
The camps are offered in one-day, two-day, and four-day sessions starting on June 10 and ending on August 15. Camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. All campers must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Participants should also bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a towel. Students must bring their own snacks and lunches. Space is limited and preregistration is required.
- Buckaroos Day Camp – June 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20 – One-day sessions. Includes beginning riding instruction, riding time, grooming, and saddling. Fee: $75. Limited: 12 campers/session.
- Trotters Mini-Camp – June 24-25, 26-27, July 8-9, 10-11 – Two-day sessions. Includes the above, plus activities/games and horse care/maintenance. Fee: $150. Limit: 12 campers/session.
- Trailblazers Week Camp – July 15-18, 22-25, July 29-August 1 – Four-day sessions. Includes the above, plus intermediate riding instruction and tack/equipment. Fee: $300. Limit: 10 campers/session.
- Horsemasters Advanced Camp – August 5-8, 12-15 – Four-day sessions. Includes the above, plus introduction to English riding and advanced riding instruction. Fee: $400. Limit: 8 campers/session. Prerequisite: Trailblazers Camp.
