The 2013 Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year application deadline is fast approaching. Broward County's public, private and charter school principals and teachers are invited to nominate arts teachers for this Honor of Excellence in four categories this year- dance, music, theater and visual arts. There will be one award in each of the categories. The application deadline is May 31, 2013. Have you nominated your arts teacher yet?
With guided anticipation, the four winners will be announced on the night of the event, November 6, 2013, at Broward Center for the Performing Arts. On an occasion cast with some of the finest art students and teachers in Broward County, along with local businesses, as well as attendees from county and city partnerships, join us as we support the importance of excellence in arts education. Performances and exhibit showcases from the best students in Broward County, in a variety of program formats,will add to the festivities on a night that celebrates Arts Excellence!
This year, the application deadline is May 31, 2013 and arts teachers may also submit their own applications. Visit the Broward Cultural Division website for guidelines and online application.
For 27 years the Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year Program, in partnership with The School Board of Broward County, FL, has showcased the artistic excellence of students and faculty in Broward County schools, by honoring outstanding arts teachers for their contribution and dedication to arts in the classroom. Now in its 28th year, Florida Power & Light Company have come forward for the second time as this year's title sponsor, with Business for the Arts of Broward board members Alan Levy, CEO Great American Farms and Juliet Murphy Roulhac, Regional Manager, FP& L Co. named as Honorary Chairs, as well as
Superintendent of Schools Robert W. Runcie; and the law firm of Kopelowitz Ostrow Ferguson Weiselberg Keechl, as a sponsor.
