Animal Care and Adoption
April showers may bring May flowers, but it also means there are a lot of homeless animals needing homes at Broward County Animal Care and Adoption.
During the entire month of April, residents can adopt a dog or cat and determine their own adoption fee by selecting their very own “it’s raining cats and dogs umbrella” that will be specially marked with a number indicating the price.
The promotion applies to all dogs and cats located at both County Adoption Centers, 1870 S.W. 39 St. in Fort Lauderdale, and 3100 N.W. 19 Terrace in Pompano Beach. Adoption fees include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, Broward County pet registration tag and microchip — a value of more than $200.
“April is a very busy time for Animal Care, we receive a lot of wonderful pets, that need a happy home,” said Lisa Mendheim, public education coordinator. “This special adoption promotion makes adopting a pet extra fun, particularly when we include a bit of excitement with a little game of chance as a part of the adoption fee process.”
Broward County’s Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of homeless pets. The agency also coordinates the registration of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations to encourage a healthier pet population.
