All members of the public who visit the Broward County Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Ave. in Fort Lauderdale, to attend meetings of the Broward County Commission, are advised of the following new security measures, effective Tuesday, April 2:
Notices will be placed at each entrance of the Governmental Center stating that weapons are not allowed in any meeting where a governing body is in session, and that anyone entering Commission Chambers (Room 422) is subject to a search.
Doors to the Chamber will be opened at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays (sooner to facilitate access if a large crowd is anticipated.) All entrants, including County staff, will be screened.
