The Easter Bunny has made a stop at Broward County Animal Care and Adoption and is encouraging residents to “hop on by” and save a life during a Easter holiday promotion. Beginning Friday, March 29, through Sunday, March 31, adoption fees for dogs and cats at both Adoption Center locations in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach will be waived.
The County Adoption Centers are located at 1870 S.W. 39 St. in Fort Lauderdale, and 3100 N.W. 19 Terrace in Pompano Beach, are open Friday from 1 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Fort Lauderdale shelter will also be open Easter Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adoptions include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, Broward County pet registration tag and microchip — a value of more than $200.
“This special waived fee adoption promotion is the perfect time to hop on down and save the life of a homeless dog or cat,” said Lisa Mendheim, public education coordinator. “We have wonderful pets, just waiting for a loving home.”
Broward County’s Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of homeless pets. The agency also coordinates the registration of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations to encourage a healthier pet population.
