Parks and Recreation Division Announces Public Participation Forum

WHAT: The Parks and Recreation Division invites the public to a Public Participation Forum, starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, at Plantation Heritage Park in Plantation. This free meeting is the public’s opportunity to provide suggestions, voice concerns, and ask questions about recreational needs in the Broward County park system. The forum will be preceded by a meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board at 6 p.m. (The advisory board’s regular meetings are on Fridays at 7:30 a.m.)

From I-95, head west on Davie Boulevard, which turns into Peters Road. Turn right (north) onto South Fig Tree Lane. The park entrance will be on your right (east).

From I-595, take State Road 7/U.S. 441 north to Davie Boulevard/Peters Road. Turn left (west) onto Peters Road and follow to South Fig Tree Lane. Turn right (north) and the park entrance will be on your right (east).

WHEN: Thursday, February 7, 6 p.m. (board meeting) & 7 p.m. (public forum)

WHO: All ages are invited to attend.

Founded in February 1956 and accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies, Broward County Parks and Recreation Division manages almost 6,500 acres, encompassing nearly 50 regional parks and nature centers, neighborhood parks, and natural areas at various stages of development.
