There’s no place like home for the holidays and Broward County Animal Care is asking for your help in finding homes for dogs and cats during a special "Home for the Holidays" adoption promotion taking place at the Fort Lauderdale Animal Care and Adoption Center, located at 1870 S.W. 39 St.

“Our 'Home for the Holidays' adoption event is the perfect way to remind residents that there are wonderful dogs and cats in our care who are longing for a home of their own,” said Animal Care's Public Education Coordinator Lisa Mendheim. “With this special monthlong promotion, adopters truly can make a difference in the life of a homeless pet, giving them not just a home for the holidays, but a forever home.”

Beginning Saturday, December 1, and continuing through Monday, December 31, residents who adopt a pet will be able to spin a special adoption wheel and win a free or reduced-fee pet adoption.

Each adopted pet is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, registered and microchipped, a value of more than $250.

Broward County’s Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of homeless pets. The agency also coordinates the registration of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations to encourage a healthier pet population.
