“Happiness is a warm puppy,” says Charlie Brown and in celebration of one of the world’s most lovable dogs — Snoopy — Broward County Animal Care and Adoption will offer special adoption fees and a chance to win Peanuts® memorabilia, including books and DVDs, from Saturday, September 29, through Friday, October 5.

As part of the celebration, those who adopt a pet will be able to spin a special adoption wheel and try their luck to win a free pet adoption. In addition, new adopters will also receive savings coupons from Pet Supermarket for food and supplies.

“It’s only fitting to pay tribute to Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Over the years they have personified the special love and bond that is so very strong between a person and their pet,” said Public Education Coordinator Lisa Mendheim.

This weekend’s special event is part of Broward County Animal Care and Adoption's participation in the ASPCA $100K Challenge, a national adoption event running from August 1 through October 31, with a goal to find homes for 1,636 pets during the three months. So far, 719 dogs and cats have found a home since the Challenge began. The shelter that saves the most lives during the Challenge has the chance to win the top prize of $100,000!

Broward County’s Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of homeless pets. The agency also coordinates the registration of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations to encourage a healthier pet population.
