Are you interested in environmental issues? Would you like to volunteer to help your community and the environment? Broward County wants you to become a fan and follow us!

Early last year, Broward County environmental programs joined other government and environmental agencies across the country in using social media networking as a way to reach the community with the launch of Facebook and Twitter pages.

"We're excited to use Facebook and Twitter as a way to communicate directly with our community. We encourage Broward County residents to stay connected and become a fan of our Facebook page (Broward County Environment) and follow us on Twitter (BrowardEnv), both of which provide information about Broward County’s environmental programs and services,” said Daniela Banu, Air Quality administrator.

The Broward Environment Facebook and Twitter pages feature community events, educational competitions, environmental daily tips to save energy and protect our natural resources, videos, public service announcements and educational resources for schools and the community.

If you're already using Facebook, become a Broward County Environment fan by selecting “Like” on the Broward County Environment Wall. To follow us on Twitter, visit
