BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA - Signing Savvy, a free online sign language dictionary, is now available to Broward County Library customers. With your Broward County Library card, you can access this valuable online resource that will help you learn and remember American Sign Language (ASL).

Signing Savvy contains several thousand high-resolution videos of American Sign Language signs, finger-spelled words and other common signs used within the U.S. and Canada. It also includes the ability to view large sign videos, build your own word lists, share lists with others, create virtual flash cards and quizzes, print signs, build sign phrases and more.

Users of Signing Savvy can browse the site by categories such as letters, numbers, colors, animals, finger spelling, world geography and more. Users open up their own account with the site, which can be accessed with your Broward County Library card from any computer. The site also includes articles and information that can help anyone learn American Sign Language or improve their existing ASL skills.

The Signing Savvy website, which was launched in 2009, was founded by educators, interactive media designers and sign language experts that have a combined 40 years of experience in sign language education. Signing Savvy’s goal is to provide the tools needed to enhance sign language education and assist in day-to-day sign language communication needs.
